Leopard Seals primarily inhabit the Antarctic pack ice but sometimes visit New Zealand in Autumn and Winter. They are the only seals known to regularly hunt and kill warm blooded prey which includes other seals. Leopard Seals are protected under the Marine Mammals act 1978. Can be aggressive and bite.
